About the destination: Avignon is a significant city in Provence, located in the southern part of France. It serves as the primary city of the Vaucluse department and is situated along the Rhône river. In 2000, Avignon was recognized as one of the European Cities of Culture. The city is home to the world's largest Gothic structure, Le Palais des Papes, which has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1995. Avignon is dotted with a variety of buildings and monuments, from the modern to the ancient, and the timeless. Another UNESCO world heritage site in the city is the Pont Saint-Bénezet, also known as le Pont d'Avignon, a renowned partially destroyed bridge. The allure of Avignon lies in its medieval walled city's narrow streets, which are filled with numerous Gothic and Baroque churches, as well as beautiful houses. Avignon is a bustling and vibrant city that retains an ancient atmosphere, even amidst the crowds. The enchanting city of Avignon is truly a Medieval gem.

Stay
About the destination: Arles is a city and municipality in the southern part of France, situated in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, where it serves as a subprefecture, in the former province of Provence. A significant portion of the Camargue is found within the municipality's boundaries, making it the largest municipality in Metropolitan France in terms of land area. The city has a rich history and was a place of significant importance in the Roman province of Gallia Narbonensis. The Roman and Romanesque Monuments of Arles were designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1981. The Roman amphitheater (les Arènes d'Arles) was constructed in the first or second century B.C. and hosts Corridas during Easter and the Rice Festival in September. Other Roman attractions include the Classical theater, the Cryptoporticos, and several buildings that incorporate Gallo-Roman columns, among others. The Van Gogh Bridge is a little further away from the city center.
